February

There's no denying the fact that February is a dreary month; it's wet, it's cold and it's dark. At least, that's true here in the northern hemisphere. There are places in the world where it's sunny and warm, beautiful places with beaches, mountains and festivals. February is an ideal time to explore South East Asia, allowing you to enjoy this magical land during its less humid months, while avoiding the monsoons which follow from May.

Marrakech in late February is a no brainer. Temperature highs can reach 20 degrees and it’s one of the best times of the year to explore the Medina, the new Musee Yves Saint Laurent and practice your haggling skills at the souks without the stifling heat that comes in Spring.
With verdant rainforests and towering volcanoes sitting beside vibrant cities, explorers are spoiled for choice. You can trek through rugged Tenorio National Park, frolic in Arenal's secret waterfalls and finish the day dining on French fusion in San José.
While the country's east coast resorts close for monsoon season, their western neighbours enjoy the driest month of the year. In February you'll find blue skies over the beaches of Langkawi and Penang and across the central peninsula.
