January

If it’s winter sun you’re after, the choice on offer is wide and varied. It’s a great time to visit certain parts of Asia, including India (where you can see the International Kite Festival), Sri Lanka and the MaldivesMalaysia and the Philippines; and parts of the Caribbean, too. Or, if you’re interested in taking a safari, this is an optimum time to head to Kenya or Tanzania for big game viewing. In the west, Central America is spectacular in January, as well as Argentina further south.

India in January is cool and dry. While some regions, like the mountainous Himalaya, experience freezing cold nighttime temperatures during this month, most of the country is only a few degrees cooler than usual. Winter provides a respite from the blazing heat of summer and the wetness of the monsoon.
The Maldives' weather in January is hot, with low humidity and plenty of sunshine. There may be some rain, but at this time of year it passes very quickly. It's a great month to visit the Maldives and booking in advance is advised. There's also great visibility for diving and snorkelling.
Sri Lanka weather in January offers the ideal temperature conditions. January to March is the best time to visit as tourists can expect dry and sunny days with very little rain. ... The average Sri Lanka temperature in January would be around 20 to 30 degrees Celsius.
